In 2018 Gundagai will be proudly hosting the annual ALGWA NSW Conference from Thursday 15 – Saturday 17 March.
ALGWA NSW is the state’s peak representative body supporting women who are in any way involved in local government. The group aims to promote gender equality within councils for both elected representatives and staff, and encourages women to embrace challenges and be the best version of themselves.
The theme for the 2018 conference will be ‘Celebrating Rural Women’. The event will focus on supporting and understanding the constraints that women in Local Government face in rural and remote communities.
There will be an exciting line up of speakers over the three days, including comedic journalist, TV presenter and author, Anna Daniels. A country girl originally from Rockhampton, Anna will be the master of ceremonies and keynote speaker at ALGWA 2018.
Other speakers include: local talent and motivational speaker Jessica-Grace, award winning local government specialist, Dr. Neryl East and professional networking strategist, Robyn Henderson.
Delegates attending the conference will not only enjoy a line-up of inspiring speakers, but will also be able to indulge in a bit of fun with organised health and wellness activities, a spot of retail therapy in local boutique stores, as well as letting their hair down at the 1950’s styled Country Ball Gala Dinner on the Saturday evening.
The ALGWA conference provides a fantastic opportunity for delegates to exchange ideas, network, debate and engage in cross-council collaboration on issues affecting women in local government.
