Celebrate ANZAC Day in one of Australia’s most recognisable towns, Gundagai.
Starting with the dawn service at 6:00am in Anzac Grove.
10:15am will see locals and visitors assemble in front of Lott’s Family Hotel for Anzac march up Sheridan Street to the cenotaph for the laying of wreaths and main Anzac Day Service. The 7th Light Horse Gundagai Troop will be in attendance. At 10:30am the march will be led by the Gundagai Town Band followed by the Vintage Car Club vehicles carrying RSL members.
Anzac Grove is Gundagai’s main war memorial, situated in Landon Street, features an original World War I Memorial hand-crafted by the late Frank Rusconi. The memorial sits at the centre of a grove of 52 kurrajong trees, representing the 52 Gundagai soldiers who died in the Great War. 400+ engraved pavers line the ”Walk of Honour” commemorating men and women of Gundagai who have served in the Military Forces of Australia.
