Rose Inn Monument

This monument marks the site of Rose Inn which was affected by the flood of 1852. The Inn was the second building in Gundagai, built very shortly after the Murrumbidgee Inn. Thomas Lindley, the proprietor, lost his wife and four children in the flood.

The Rose Inn survived the floods, but the building was demolished soon afterwards because it was unable to be salvaged and reused.
