RV Parking
Gundagai is a historic town built on a hill, which means some streets and parking areas can be tight for larger vehicles.
If you’re travelling with a caravan, motorhome, or towing a trailer, a little planning before you arrive will help make your visit smooth and stress-free.
Visitor Information Centre (VIC) Parking
The Council carpark next to the Gundagai Visitor Information Centre is centrally located and convenient for a quick stop, however:
It is often busy during weekdays
The layout is not suited to larger vehicles
There is limited turning space, particularly for vehicles towing caravans
While there is an entrance to this carpark via Sheridan Street (right next to the VIC), this access point is not suitable for larger vehicles or those towing, as there is no room to turn around once inside.
Important Access Information
If you are travelling in a larger vehicle or towing:
Do not enter the carpark via Sheridan Street
Access for larger vehicles is one-way only
Entry should be made via West Street
Once inside the upper carpark, there is no suitable turning area for larger vehicles
Vehicles must continue through and exit, as turning around is not possible
Recommended Parking for RVs & Caravans
For a safer and easier experience, we recommend using the Council’s large vehicle parking area:
Located off West Street, next to the Gundagai Services Club
Approximately 30 metres from the Visitor Information Centre
Suitable for:
Caravans
Motorhomes
Vehicles towing trailers
No strict time limits on parking (within reason)
Provides plenty of space to park and manoeuvre comfortably

Additional Parking Options
If the main areas are full, there are also alternative parking options nearby:
Otway Street
Sheridan Lane
These side streets may be suitable for larger vehicles depending on availability.
